Peer Review Policy
Every manuscript goes through desk check, AI-assisted first-pass screening, and double-blind human peer review, in that order. AI never makes the accept/reject decision at any stage.
The pipeline
01Submit
Author submits full text, abstract, and metadata via the manuscript portal.
02Desk Check
A human editor screens for scope fit and basic compliance before anything else happens.
03AI First-Pass
7 heuristic agents independently score structure, originality signals, methodology, clarity, and ethics — then cross-check each other's outputs for disagreement or inconsistency.
04Human Peer Review
Qualified reviewers read the manuscript directly. They can accept, override, or ignore any AI finding.
05Revision
Author receives the consolidated human decision and revises accordingly.
06Editorial Decision
A human editor makes the final accept/reject call. This step cannot be automated or skipped.
07Published
Accepted articles get a dedicated, permanent URL with full text and structured citation metadata.
On our use of AI — stated plainly
Disclosure
We disclose this because journals that hide it are the ones worth being suspicious of, not the ones that explain it clearly:
- The 7 review agents are rule-based heuristics (lexical analysis, structural pattern matching, statistical checks) running locally in this codebase — not a third-party AI API, and not a black box.
- Agents cross-check one another: score disagreement, outlier scoring, and internally inconsistent recommendations are all flagged and shown to the human reviewer alongside the manuscript, not hidden.
- No manuscript is ever accepted, rejected, or published on AI output alone. Every decision has a named human editor or reviewer behind it.
- We do not use AI to alter submitted text or disguise a manuscript's authorship. What an author submits is what gets reviewed.
Reviewer expectations
Reviewers evaluate methodological soundness, originality, clarity, and ethical compliance, and provide written comments to the author regardless of recommendation. Double-blind review is used throughout: authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
Appeals
Authors may appeal an editorial decision in writing to the editorial office, stating the specific grounds. Appeals are reviewed by an editor not involved in the original decision.
