At A²IP, membership is not a subscription — it is a recognition. Each tier reflects a specific level of demonstrated achievement, peer endorsement, or institutional commitment to the responsible advancement of technology and human progress. Age is never a criterion.
Student Affiliate and Associate Member grades are open to application — any eligible individual may apply directly. Applications are reviewed by the relevant regional Chapter Council.
Senior Fellow, Distinguished Fellow, and Honorary Fellow designations are conferred by nomination only. Any person — member or non-member — may nominate a deserving individual. Nominations are reviewed by the founding members and the Board of Governors. No individual may nominate themselves.
Three professional tiers. Associate Membership is open to application. Senior and Distinguished Fellowship are conferred by nomination only — nominated by peers, reviewed by the founding members and Board.
Student Affiliate and Associate Member fees are waived for the first year — founding intake members join at no cost. From Year 2, standard rates apply. LMIC rates (40%) available for World Bank-classified low- and middle-income countries. Hardship waivers available via Chapter Councils.
Nominations for Senior, Distinguished, and Honorary Fellowship are open to all. You do not need to be a member to nominate someone deserving. All nominations are reviewed by the founding members before Board consideration.
The founding members of A²IP conduct initial review of all fellowship nominations — evaluating impact, relevance, and alignment with A²IP's values before nominations proceed to the Board of Governors for formal vote. This founding review ensures every nomination is treated with the institutional gravity it deserves.
Anyone may submit a nomination — member or non-member. Complete the nomination form with the nominee's details, their contributions, and your endorsement statement. Self-nominations are automatically disqualified.
The founding members review all nominations for merit, authenticity, and alignment with A²IP's standards. This initial gate ensures quality and protects the integrity of the fellowship designation.
Nominations passing founding review proceed to the Board of Governors: simple majority for Senior Fellowship, two-thirds supermajority for Distinguished Fellowship, and unanimous vote for Honorary Fellowship.
Whether you are a student building your first AI project, a practitioner shaping AI policy, a distinguished scholar whose work has defined the field — or someone who knows a person deserving recognition — there is a pathway for you in A²IP.
