The A²IP Philosophy

Membership is Earned,
Not Purchased. Not Aged.

At A²IP, membership is not a subscription — it is a recognition. Each tier reflects a specific level of demonstrated achievement, peer endorsement, or institutional commitment to the responsible advancement of technology and human progress. Age is never a criterion.

Student Affiliate and Associate Member grades are open to application — any eligible individual may apply directly. Applications are reviewed by the relevant regional Chapter Council.

Senior Fellow, Distinguished Fellow, and Honorary Fellow designations are conferred by nomination only. Any person — member or non-member — may nominate a deserving individual. Nominations are reviewed by the founding members and the Board of Governors. No individual may nominate themselves.

A²IP Principle
"What you have built, discovered, or shaped is the only credential that matters. Not your age. Not your institution. Your achievement."
Student and Associate tiers welcome all who are actively engaged with AI and frontier technology. Senior and Distinguished Fellowship are conferred upon demonstrated, sustained contribution — nominated by peers and reviewed by the founding members.

The Honorary Fellowship is the supreme distinction A²IP bestows. It is reserved for individuals who have made transformative, globally-recognised contributions to AI, quantum computing, edge technologies, or any frontier of human advancement — whether in research, governance, policy, or the shaping of civilisation's relationship with emerging technology.

Honorary Fellows are not required to pay membership dues. The designation is conferred by unanimous vote of the Board of Governors. It is a lifetime honour — it cannot be requested, only bestowed. Any person may put forward a nomination; the founding members conduct initial review before Board consideration.

Open Nominations

Anyone Can Nominate

Nominations for Senior, Distinguished, and Honorary Fellowship are open to all. You do not need to be a member to nominate someone deserving. All nominations are reviewed by the founding members before Board consideration.

Nomination Review Process

The founding members of A²IP conduct initial review of all fellowship nominations — evaluating impact, relevance, and alignment with A²IP's values before nominations proceed to the Board of Governors for formal vote. This founding review ensures every nomination is treated with the institutional gravity it deserves.

01 · Submit

Anyone may submit a nomination — member or non-member. Complete the nomination form with the nominee's details, their contributions, and your endorsement statement. Self-nominations are automatically disqualified.

02 · Founding Review

The founding members review all nominations for merit, authenticity, and alignment with A²IP's standards. This initial gate ensures quality and protects the integrity of the fellowship designation.

03 · Board Decision

Nominations passing founding review proceed to the Board of Governors: simple majority for Senior Fellowship, two-thirds supermajority for Distinguished Fellowship, and unanimous vote for Honorary Fellowship.
